About Department

Education is the means through which the aims and habits of a group of people live on from one generation to the next. Books in this subject area deal with education: any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character, or physical ability of an individual. It is an interdisciplinary subject which draws on Sociology, Psychology, History, and Philosophy to help us understand and broaden our knowledge about people of all ages learn, and the factors that can impact positively and negatively on this. Education as a discipline is gradually gaining importance in terms of career prospect as well as knowledge base.

Key Areas: Child Psychology, Educational Sociology, History of Education in India, Guidance & Counselling, Educational measurement & Evaluation, Value based Education, & Education of Children with special Needs.

The subject Education is studied as a General Course since 2009. The department has one full time Assistant Professor and one SACT teacher.
