Introduction:

Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya, an esteemed affiliated college, is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all its members. In alignment with the principles of equality, dignity, and respect, the college has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). The ICC plays a pivotal role in addressing and redressing grievances related to sexual harassment and discrimination, ensuring a secure and supportive atmosphere for every individual associated with the college community.


Objectives:

The primary objectives of the Internal Complaints Committee at Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya are as follows:


1. Prevention: To cultivate a campus culture that discourages any form of sexual harassment or discrimination and promotes awareness on gender sensitization.


2. Complaint Redressal: To provide a confidential and accessible platform for individuals to report incidents of sexual harassment or discrimination and ensure prompt and fair resolution.


3. Support and Counseling: To offer support and counseling services to complainants, acknowledging the psychological and emotional impact of such incidents.


4. Awareness and Training: To organize workshops, seminars, and training programs for students, faculty, and staff, promoting a deeper understanding of issues related to sexual harassment and discrimination.


5. Compliance: To ensure compliance with relevant laws and guidelines, including the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, and implement effective measures to prevent and address such incidents.


Rules:

The following rules govern the functioning of the Internal Complaints Committee at Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya:


1. Composition: The ICC shall comprise members from diverse backgrounds, including faculty, staff, and external experts. The committee will include a chairperson, a representative from the college administration, and at least one external member with expertise in the field.


2. Confidentiality: All complaints and proceedings will be treated with utmost confidentiality. The identity of the complainant, the accused, and any witnesses will be protected to the extent permitted by law.


3. Fair and Impartial Proceedings: The ICC is committed to conducting fair and impartial investigations, ensuring that both the complainant and the respondent have an opportunity to present their perspectives and evidence.


4. Non-Retaliation: The college prohibits any form of retaliation against individuals who file complaints or participate in investigations. Such acts will be treated as a serious violation of the college's policies.


5. Disciplinary Action: If the ICC finds merit in a complaint, it will recommend appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the college's policies and applicable laws.
