Department of Music
About Department
Music is an art form that combines either vocal or instrumental sounds, sometimes both, using form, harmony and expression of emotion to convey an Idea. The Department of Music develops the ability and aesthetic sense through intensive academic learning, practice of music, academic assistance and regular assessment of the students.
The Department was introduced as a general subject on and from 28 January 2001. After four year on 20 July 2005, Music Honours course was also commenced. At present our department consists of 6 faculty members. The department of music also organizes various programmes to develop students' communication skills and stage performance ability. The Department is also proud to offer engaging faculty members who are dedicated to the success of all the students by organizing different cultural programmes. These programs enable our students to make good relationships between music and other fields of activities.
The curriculum introduces students to principles of musical skills and statistical analysis which helps to develop theoretical skills and builds up a personality, intellectually and morally sound.

Bivas Dhanda, a student of Music Department of our College, got admission in our College in session 2007-2008 and obtained his bachelor degree in 2010 with First Class. After that he obtained his Master Degree (2013) with First Class from Rabindra Bharati University and after that he passed WB-SET in 29.04.2022 .
As a student of Music Department we got this success of Bivas as a result of hard work of our Department . Along with this, we have also been able to create the attitude of students to set for such examinations at the very initial stage of education.
