About Department

History as a discipline is gradually gaining importance in terms of career prospect as well as knowledge base. The General course in History commenced on 10.07.1964 and the Honours course saw the light of day on 05.10.1994 in our college. The department has three full time posts at present. Prof. Amalesh Jana and Prof. Subhas Chandra Das, were illustrious teachers who taught at the department for an extensive period. Presently the department offers UG degree programmes. To keep students updated the department follows university syllabus with care. besides Chalk and talk it usually offers classes with power points. seminars and special classes were held all round the year.
